Story
The film spans four turbulent decades during the Troubles in Northern Ireland
The real-life Dolours Price was married to Irish actor Stephen Rea for two decades (1983-2003). During that period, Rea appeared in what would become her most famous film in the United States: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
The acting is absolutely perfect
In that film, Rea plays Fergus, a reluctant and ambivalent member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) who Price has been involved with for years. The lead actors Gerry Adams, Brendan Hughes and Dolours Price are perfectly cast.
You’d swear you were actually reliving history
It’s raw, exciting and sets Belfast in the 70s to a tee. Honestly, you would think you were watching a very well-filmed documentary.
I’ve only watched a few episodes, but so far it’s something you can guess
So far they’ve done a good job of showing both sides of the story and haven’t been shy about showing how the problems started. Protestant/loyalist people, with the help of the police, are beating and setting Catholics on fire outside their homes.
